Why Get A Custom PC?

When you're looking for a gaming PC, you typically have a few options:

  1. Pre-built machines

  2. Custom built

  3. Do-it-Yourself

Pre-built machines can be a good option if you happen to find one with the specs that match your needs and don't need to leave much room for expansion. Overall, they are less flexible and the buyer has less control over the quality of components. It's always a good idea to know things like your ideal CPU, GPU and RAM speed, but it's also important to be aware of the brand and its quality.

A custom built machine is our favourite option. You get the control over the components and brand quality that you want, plus the expertise of an industry professional who can help find the best option for your needs and skill level. Custom builds also typically leave ample room for expansion so your machine can grow with your skill level and gaming technology. Another bonus? Professional builds are warrantied. Plus, there are some pretty cool chassis you can outfit your rig in.

While a DIY machine can offer the same benefits as a custom built, the builder must have a fair amount of technical know-how and should be well-versed in the advantages and disadvantages of various components and the needs each of these components meet. Home builders also lose out on the professional cost of components AND if you mess something up, your cost doubles or worse if you need a professional to fix your problem anyway!

Want to check out your custom options? Concept offers an exceptional line of in-house built machines that can be tailored to your need. Come speak to one of our experienced technicians in-store at 1257 Marine Drive in North Vancouver or give us a call at 604-986-7680.
