Did you recently upgrade to Windows 11 and notice some icons missing? Part of Windows new look is a streamlined desktop, which means they have eliminated a number of their legacy icons, like your "Recycle Bin" and "My PC". If you prefer to use them on the desktop, rather than from your taskbar, this can be quite an annoying change.
The good news is you can easily get them back! Here's how:
Right click on your Start button (now in the middle of your Task Bar at the bottom of your screen) and click "Settings"
A new window will pop up with a split panel - in the menu panel on the left click "Personalization"; this will change the panel on the right
In the panel on the right, scroll down and click "Themes"
Still on the right-hand panel, scroll down and click "Desktop Icon Settings" (under the Related Settings category)
Another pop up window will appear. Check the boxes of the legacy icons you wish to display.
Click "Apply" then "OK" and close out your settings box
Your icons should now be displayed on your desktop.
