MONITORS
Why are some monitors curved? A curved screen directs light from all angles towards the viewers eye, with the idea that you can see everything with less ocular exertion and reduced distortion. The curve can help your eyes to perceive the screen as larger compared to the same sized standard flat screen, known as an increased level of immersion.
What is a multimedia monitor? A monitor that contains built in speakers and a camera. Many curved monitors are also classified as multimedia monitors.
Standard computer monitors come in a variety of sizes, resolution, and screen type.
Typically between 21" and 27" in size, but larger (and smaller) sizes are also available. Resolution will vary by price, with most of today's monitors offering a minimum 1920x1080 resolution.
Most monitors use LCD panels with varying display types (TN, IPS, VA).
Standard monitors offer a wide-range and budget friendly options.
What is the difference between a gaming monitor and a regular monitor? Most gaming monitors have features like faster response times (usually between 1ms-5ms) and higher refresh rates (sometimes as high or higher than 144hz). They use TN panels and have a higher pixel count. But remember, your monitor is only as good as your graphics card can output.
Another feature of some gaming and publishing monitors is height adjustment, screen tilt and orientation swivel.
